Our topic this half term is all about the Stone Age! As a class, we will step back in time and discover what it was like to build our own homes, hunt and gather food and create our own clothes and jewellery from a range of material. We will compare how life was then and now and discuss Stone Age homes and settlements.
Year_4 Spring 2 Curriculum Topics
In Science, we will learn all about electricity. We will create our own circuits and discuss the difference between insulators and conductors. As a class, we will look at different equipment used in electrical circuits and research the difference between battery powered and mains electricity.
Where is Stonehenge? In our geography lessons, we will use a range of maps and aerial images to locate the Stonehenge. We will discuss how people can damage and improve the environment. We will discover Stonehenge and create our own models.

Throughout our RE lessons we will focus on the following questions:

This half term we will be focussing on the class novel ‘Stig of the Dump’ by Clive King. We will discuss the characters in the book and continue to build our predicting and inferential skills whilst reading as a class. In English, we will create narratives, letters, explanation texts, poems, and diary entries. We will continue to develop our handwriting skills as well as editing and improving our work using purple pens.
